Death

According to Virginia, Death Records, 1912-2014, Mary Augusta Biver committed suicide by strangulation on 4 December 1940 at home.  She lived with her husband, Clemens Biver at 53 W. Kelly Ave, Phoebus, Elizabeth City, Virginia at the time.

She was born 10 January 1903 and died at 37 years, 10 months, 22 days old.  She was born in Brest, France but had been in the United States for 19 years and worked as a housewife.

Her father was Francois Piquet, born in France.  Her mother was listed as unknown.  She was buried in Oakland on 4 December 1940.

Mary’s obituary was published by the Daily Press on page 6, December 3, 1940. She was 37 years old when she died, allegedly by her own hand.  She had three daughters listed in her Obituary: Mrs. Joseph Rovansek of Hawaii, Yoland Biver and Lucette Biver of Phoebus.  She was also survived by a sister, Francois Salvania, and two nieces.

This is what I’ve been able to find so far for Mary. There are several City Directories where she is listed as living with her husband, Clemens Biver. Those can be found on his page as I don’t want to duplicate so many of them.
