In 1930, per the United States Federal Census, Lucette lived with her parents and sister at 53 Kelly Ave, . Her parents were Clemens Biver, age 37, and Mary A., age 27. Clemens and his parents were born in Lorraine, France. He immigrated to the United States in 1911 and was naturalized. Clemens was a carrier for the post office.

Mary and her parents were born in Brest, France. She immigrated to the United States in 1921 and was also naturalized. Both were French speaking. Mary was 18 years old when she married Clemens, he was 28. Lucette’s sister, Muguette, was 7 and Lucette was 5 years old at the time, they were both born in Virginia.

In 1940, Lucette lived at 53 North Kelly, in Phoebus, Elizabeth City, Virginia according to the 1940 Census. She lived with her parents, Clarence age 47 and Mary age 37 Biver, as well as her sisters, Muguette age 18 and Yolande, age 7. Lucette was 16 years old. Clarence owned the house and its approximate value was $5,000 at the time. Muguette and her sisters were born in Virginia. Clarence was a parcel post carrier for the post office.
Marriage
According to Virginia, Marriage Records, 1936-2014, Lucette Clementine Marie Biver married Thomas Edward Witty on 30 September 1944 in Fort Monroe, Virginia.

Lucette was 20 years old at the time born in Phoebus, Virginia to Clemens Biver and Mary A. Piquett. She was a Clerk with N.A.C.A. Thomas Edward Witty was 24 years old at the time working as a Merchant Seaman in the U.S. Merchant Marines.

Thomas was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Edward Witty and Agnes Ruth Miller who lived at 45 Poplar Ave, Newport News, Virginia. According to the local newspaper, they were married at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic church, Old Point Comfort.

While I found a lot of records for the different places Lucette lived with her husband, Thomas Edward Witty, I didn’t find much in the way of her life. I suspect I will find more when I start researching her husband and, as always, I’ll come back and update this post as I find additional information.
