Claude Miller and Mattie B. App. Claude was a solicitor for an Insurance Company at the time and lived at 2513 Greenwood in Kentucky. Claude was listed at 38 years old, Mattie at 35. She had birthed 3 children, 2 were living. The physician was J E Helms.
According to the 1910 Census, Claude lived at 3513 Greenwood Ave, Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky with his wife and two kids in 1910. He was 38 years old at the time. His wife, Mattie Belle, was 35 years old. Mattie had birthed 3 children, only 2 were living. They had been married 4 years which puts their wedding in or around 1906. Their son Thurman was two years old and Bertram was a newborn. They were all born in Kentucky but Mattie’s parents were both born in Germany. Claude was a collector for an insurance company.

Claude was 48 years old and Mattie was 45 years old at the time according to the 1920 Census Record. Claude’s parents were born in Kentucky, Mattie’s parents were both born in Germany. Claude was a manager at a Dry Cleaning Company. They lived at 4715 Fourth St., Allison, Kentucky.
In 1930, Claude and family lived at 2032 Lakeside Dr., Allison, Kentucky, according to the 1930 Census Record. They owned their home which was valued at $8,000. Claude was 57, Mattie was 55, Thurman was 22, Bertram was 20, and Louis Aloysius was 18 years old at the time. Claude was a Manager at Dye Works and Bertram was an Electrician at an Electric Shop.
Death
The death record for Henry Claude Miller lists his birthdate as 28 August 1876 in Nelson City, Kentucky. He was born in the same place as his parents, Henry Miller and Linnie Dragoo. He had been living with his wife, Mattie B. Miller, at 4418 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky when he passed on 25 July 1934 of carcinoma of the tongue. He was also anemic. Claude was 68 years, 10 months, and 28 days old when he passed. He had been a dry cleaner.
The U.S., Find A Grave Index, 1600s-Current record confirmed several details about Claude. His parents were William Henry Miller, 1847-1943 and Miranda Linnie Dragoo, 1845-1931. His wife was Martine Belle App, 1874-1956. He had one full sibling, Lillie Grace Miller (Thurman), 1874-1948. And his two step brothers were William Cortland Shoptaugh, 1865-1939 and John Abner Shoptaugh, 1865-1939. Claude was buried in Saint Louis Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky.
