Beyl and Edna M. Applegate. He was their youngest child. John was 47 and Edna was 39 years old when Frederick was born. John was a Baker and Edna was a housewife. Edna listed 6 children she’d given birth to but only 5 were still alive.

At the time of the 1940 Federal Census, John and Edna lived at 1020 S. New Jersey Street, Center Township, Marion County, Indiana with their children Charles, Mary Lou, and Frederick. John Edward was 53 years old, Edna was 45, Charles was 23, Mary Lou was 11, and Frederick was 5 years old. John Edward was a Laborer in the Flood Prevention Industry. He made $453. Charles made $200 at school at NYA.

FEB 1978 Indiana, Marriage Certificates, 1958-2005
Per Indiana, Marriage Certificates, 1958-2005, Frederick Eugene Beyl married Alma Jean Crist on 11 February 1978 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Frederick was 43 years old at the time. Frederick had previously been married 1 time. He lived at 2813 W. 52nd Street in Indianapolis at the time of their marriage. His usual occupation is listed as a Mill Wright. He was Protestant. Alma had also been previously married one time. She was 40 years old from Tennessee. She worked as a Seamstress and was a Protestant.

According to Find A Grave, Frederick’s middle initial was E. His birthdate was 22 August 1934 in Indiana. He passed away on 30 August 2013 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana and was buried there. Frederick’s father is listed as John Edward Beyl, birthdate 15 February 1887 in Bartholomew County, Indiana and death in 1966. His mother is listed as Edna M Beyl, born December 1894, died 8 March 1949 in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana. This information is consistent with other facts on the tree confirming that this is the correct Frederick Beyl.

Per Find A Grave, Frederick was the last of his parents and siblings to pass away. He served in the US Navy for four and a half years and the US Air Force for four years. He worked as a Millwright for Allison Transmission for 17 years. Fred was a member of the American Legion Post 113 for 38 years and the American Racing Pigeon Union. He enjoyed racing pigeons, woodworking, fishing, and making people laugh, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Alma J. Lawson Beyl; five stepchildren and two adopted children; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
