Mary Elizabeth Beyl was born August 26, 1879, according to the Indiana Death Certificate.
The 1880 United States Federal Census lists Mary living with her parents and brother at 228 Jackson Street, Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Her father is listed as Jacob Beyl, her mother as Elizabeth. Jacob Jr. is listed as William.

Jacob Sr was 32 years old at the time, working as a Railroad Laborer. He is marked as Maimed, crippled, bedridden, or otherwise disabled. He and his parents were born in France. Elizabeth is listed as 24 years old and a housekeeper. She was born in Indiana, and her parents were born in Germany. William was 4 years old at the time. Mary was 9 months old.

In 1900, Mary lived with her parents and siblings at 228 Jackson St. Jacob Sr. was 53 years old and worked as a carpenter. He had been unemployed for 5 months of the year. Jacob Jr. was also a carpenter and was unemployed for six months. He was 24 years old at the time. Margaret was 44 years old, John E. was 13, Lillie F. was 10, and Thomas G. was 7. Jacob and Margaret’s granddaughter, Helen M. Bond, was also living with them at the time. She was 11 months old.

Jacob Sr.’s birthday is listed as December 1846. Margaret was born in November 1855. They had been married for 29 years. Jacob Jr.’s birthday was listed as May 1876. Mary E. August 1879, John E. February 1887, Lillie F. January 1890, Thomas G. July 1892, and Helen was June 1899. Jacob Sr. and his parents were born in France. Margaret’s parents were born in Germany.
Marriage
Mary Elizabeth Beyl married Charles Arthur Blake on July 24, 1901, in Marion County, Indiana. Mary was 22 years old at the time. Her parents are listed as Jacob Beyl and Kahn. Mary’s birthplace is listed as Tennessee. Mary had one child, Helen Marie Blake.

On January 16, 1908, Mary and Charles had a little girl at 3 pm. They named her Mary Belle Blake. At the time, they lived at 634 E. Georgia St, Indianapolis, Indiana. Charles was 30 and Mary was 29 at the time. Charles was a solicitor and driver.

According to the 1910 United States Federal Census, Mary Elizabeth Blake resided at 910 Bates St, Center Township, Indiana, with her husband, Charles Arthur Blake, and their children. Charles was 31 and Mary was 30 years old at the time. Helen was 10 years old, and Mary was 2 years old. Charles was a wagon driver for an Oil Company.
Death
Mary passed away at 36 years, 11 months, and 5 days old, according to Indiana Death Certificates, 1899-2011. Her father is listed as Jacob Beyl, born in France. Her mother is listed as Margarett E. Kern. The informant was her daughter, Helen M Blake. Mary died on July 31, 1916, at 6 pm from Uremia. Uremia is a condition involving abnormally high levels of waste products in the blood. She had been suffering from Chronic Parenchymatous Nephritis, which is chronic inflammation of the kidney. She was buried in Columbus, Indiana, on August 3, 1916.

Mary was survived by her husband and both children, according to her Obituary.

She was buried at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Indiana.
